Google’s next flagship phone, Pixel 7 Pro, unboxed

Pixel 7 Pro

More facts about the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro continue to surface after they were introduced at Google IO 2022 in May.

According to Gadgetfull BD (via 9to5Google), we witness Google’s next flagship phones a new black variant of the phone when its wrapper is removed.

The 44-second video continues with the Google logo and Pixel setup screen. We don’t see Android 13 in the clip, though.

What we already know

Pixel aficionados will want to watch the unboxing video, but it doesn’t reveal anything new about the phone’s design. Google has already shown off the phone’s design.

Seeing the item in person helps. The Google Pixel 7 Pro may have a 6.71-inch display like the Pixel 6 Pro. Pixel 7 Pro has a triple-lens rear camera like its predecessor.

Both Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will use Google and Samsung’s second-generation Tensor chipset. Other specs won’t be revealed until the final launch.

Again, Google vs Apple

Previous Pixels have premiered in October, but reports say Google may release the 2022 versions in September.

That would push Pixel 7’s arrival closer to iPhone 14’s. We know Apple is planning an event on September 7, and while there’s no official confirmation, new iPhones should be there.

This year, Apple may enhance the Pro versions with faster CPUs, design tweaks, and better cameras.

The Google Pixel series is catching up to the Apple iPhone in hardware and software quality, but it still has a way to go. It will be interesting to see what both companies unveil in the next month or two.
