iPhone 14 Pro always-on display leaked

iPhone 14 Pro

According to iOS 16 code and reputable sources, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will include an always-on display.

MacRumors has inside knowledge on the new function. Always-on mode fades in and out widgets on the lock screen to prevent screen burn-in.

Always-on mode darkens depth-effect lock screen wallpapers. The user can change the foreground’s dimming, tinting, and highlighting.

More Alerts

Wallpaper, colours, fonts, and widgets will be constant between the always-on and fully lighted lock screens, thus you won’t be able to configure different options for the two modes.

Notifications will appear on the always-on display, according to the fresh information, rolling in from the bottom as they arrive. At the bottom of the screen may be a notification counter, and it sounds like the user can personalise the alert interface.

The status bar will be modified to utilise the extra space afforded by the Pro model’s pill-shaped cut-out. Apple’s September 7 event will tell.

Pro models differ

The always-on display is one of numerous changes rumoured to be unique to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max variants. Apple has split its flagship phone line into two levels.

The Pro and Pro Max versions will feature a new A16 Bionic CPU, while the basic iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max stay with the A15 Bionic chipset that powers the current iPhone 13 range. Apple may continue this strategy in the future.

Pro models may also have better screen technology. Add in all the typical Pro perks, including an enhanced camera system, and it appears like there will be a substantial jump to the Pro level.

That may be to encourage people to buy more costly iPhones, but it makes the iPhone 14 feel less substantial. Apple’s strategy will pay off in time.
