Microsoft streams without Game Pass

Game Pass

Microsoft will soon allow streaming of games that aren’t included in its Game Pass service.

Microsoft promised in June that Xbox Cloud Gaming will improve.

Later this year, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play certain titles they own or have purchased outside the Xbox Game Pass library from the cloud.

On August 9, gamers briefly saw “select games.” The next great Xbox experiment was a website flaw.

Xbox Game Pass games can be streamed to a computer, console, or mobile device. Owned games don’t have this feature. If you own an Xbox game that’s not on Game Pass, you can play it on your home console. Microsoft will fix that by 2022.

Some Twitter and Reddit users felt the upgrade was soon. Klobrille on Twitter, ManejadorDeEspadas on Reddit, and others discovered unusual tags on Elden Ring and Grand Theft Auto V. Despite not being on Xbox Game Pass, some games have cloud icons or “play” shortcuts in the URL. These are for Xbox Game’s Pass cloud games.

Fans on social media speculated that Microsoft would make a huge surprise at Gamescom in a few weeks. Not so far. Microsoft confirmed to Eurogamer that the cloud listing bug has been rectified.

Microsoft could yet introduce some cloud gaming titles at Gamescom. We don’t consider the games fans found to be a complete list, and we can’t predict if the capability will be available in the next several weeks.

A Microsoft representative confirmed this during our Samsung Smart TV presentation. We don’t know the release date or project scope, but we might at Gamescom.
