The cost of Nvidia’s RTX 3000 GPUs, RTX 3090, 3090 Ti, and the RTX 3080 Ti, have dropped to all-time lows in the United States.
According to Wccftech, an EVGA variant of the flagship RTX 3090 Ti reached $1,100 on Newegg before selling out. At the time of this writing, however, Newegg was selling an EVGA RTX 3090 Ti Ultra Gaming graphics card (with a quicker boost speed than the base model) for $1,150, $50 less than the latest low we saw for this GPU (when sold direct by the manufacturer itself).
The RTX 3090 has also seen a price drop, with EVGA’s Ultra Gaming variant now available for $960. (again, this is in stock, at least as we write this).
The RTX 3080 Ti is now $800 from Newegg (another EVGA product), and it’s even cheaper at Best Buy, where an MSI model is $740.
GPU prices falling?
MSI RTX 3080 Ti prices have dropped 31%, while the EVGA RTX 3090 Ti base model has dropped from $2,150 to $1,100, which is almost to half-price in the US.
The RTX 3080 Ti is currently £849 in the UK. In China, Nvidia’s high-end Ampere models are 35% to 45% below MSRP, and the RTX 3000 series is 10% to 15% cheaper.
Prices are dropping, especially for the 3080 Ti and Ampere GPUs, but even deeper discounts may be on the way.
The Taiwan Economic Daily predicts price cuts that will “far exceed” last month’s, and this current batch is in keeping with that projection. AMD price is also believed to be decreasing, with the RX 6900 XT now down to $700 in the US and 40% below its MSRP in China.
With further drops to RTX 3000 GPUs, the RTX 3090 Ti might drop below $1,000, and RTX 3080 versions could see some very fantastic offers, so being patient could pay off handsomely. These bargains will only be so attractive before more powerful RTX 4000 versions arrive — and RDNA 3 GPUs for AMD, too. Nvidia has to move current-gen stock quickly, as we’ve heard recently.
