Samsung and Roku TV owners receive free Apple TV Plus

Owners of Roku and Samsung smart TV devices may now feel even more smug about their devices, as Apple is providing them with three free months of Apple TV Plus.

Apple’s streaming service generally costs $4.99 / £4.99 / AU$7.99 per month, but through November 28, Samsung Smart TV and Roku owners may get three months free.

Samsung TVs from 2018-2022 are eligible, whereas Roku owners need a current streaming box or stick.

To sign up for the trial, open the Apple TV app on your Samsung TV or Roku home screen.

This is Apple’s most recent offensive move in its ongoing conflict with streaming industry heavyweights like Netflix and Disney Plus.

Last week, Apple announced that it would be streaming the first season of one of its most popular shows, See, for free until the end of August 29 as part of its promotional efforts.

With popular shows like Ted Lasso, the Ben Stiller–directed psychological drama Severance, and live MLB baseball, Apple TV Plus has become a streaming service to be reckoned with since its release on most smart TVs and set-top boxes.

The drama CODA, which premiered earlier this year, was the first film to win the Best Picture Oscar on the streaming service.
