Apple has a launch event scheduled for September 7, when we may see the Apple Watch 8 and iPhone 14 – but it now seems likely that another new Apple watch pro will make an appearance too.
A fresh post at Macotakara (via MacRumors) points to an Apple Watch Pro. The wearable has a 47 mm shell and a flatter look than the Apple Watch.
This seems to confirm earlier leaks regarding this device. This new wearable has a titanium case and longer battery life.
How about Expert or Tough?
A revised, flatter Apple Watch 8 design was first rumoured for the Apple Watch 7. The revised look may be exclusive to a new model.
Apple Watch is now available in 41 mm and 45 mm sizes, although there has been speculation of a Rugged Edition. Some publications refer to this as the Apple Watch Extreme Edition.
Macotakara reports Apple will make a great show of announcing the Apple Watch Pro, perhaps using the “one more thing” method (including the original Apple Watch).
More watch options
Apple Watch is a success by any measure. It’s the best-selling smartwatch, and its features have evolved over time.
If the rumours regarding an Apple Watch Pro are true, Apple wants to give iPhone owners another reason to buy one. Don’t like the ordinary edition? Here’s a bigger, more durable, pricier version.
Apple hasn’t tapped the market for tough, outdoor smartwatches like the Garmin series. These wearables appeal to hardcore runners, hikers, walkers, cyclists, etc.
How robust and long-lasting the new Apple wristwatch is remains to be seen, but having various variants on sale can’t harm — especially the cheaper Apple Watch SE.
