With the TCL Tab 10, you can get your 5G Netflix fix for a fraction of the cost of a Galaxy S tablet.
There are startlingly few cheap tablets with fast cellular data. The $300 TCL Tab 10 5G runs on T-5G Mobile’s network, making it a terrific backseat tablet for travel with its own connectivity. The ten-inch display is larger than the next cheapest option, and the battery should endure long travels.
The TCL Tab 10 is $100 more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite, which has an 8-inch display. The Tab 10 is a $100 upgrade. TCL’s NXTVISION division makes a 10.1″ full HD screen. 8,000mAh battery vs. 5,100mAh on the smaller Galaxy Tab.
TCL Tab 10 has 8MP rear and 5MP front cameras. This front camera can also unlock a tablet using face recognition, which is great for kids.
This Samsung Tab 10 runs Android 12 but has only 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (after system software). That’s enough for basic movies and Web browsing. The MediaTek Kompanio 800T CPU slows gaming and multitasking.
What’s cheaper?
TCL also produces a $100 more Tab Pro tablet for Verizon with identical features. You get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor, but the same screen, RAM, and battery. It has higher-resolution cameras, but Android 11 and TCL’s Android updates are unproven. Professionals may employ the Tab Pro’s 64GB storage, fingerprint reader, and microSD card expansion.
More power would be expensive. A cellular-connected iPad costs $160 extra. T-Samsung Mobile’s Galaxy Tab S7 FE costs $669, twice as much as this tablet. For that money, you get a laptop or Chromebook replacement.
