Total War, Alien Isolation developer teases third-person action game

Total War

Developer of the Total War series and the survival horror game Alien Isolation, is at work on a new game.

After releasing Warhammer 3 earlier this year, the company announced a new “action franchise” in a blog post. The report says the unidentified third-person game will use Unreal Engine 5.

Creative Assembly said there will be a “major wait” for details. Total War Saga: Troy developer CA Sofia is developing the game, but future game releases won’t be affected.

Action-oriented

Creative Assembly is known for its Total War series, but it also makes action games. In the late 1980s, it released platformer-shooters, and it’s since released action games.

Spartan

Total Warrior, a God of War clone, was released in 2005. You must defend your country from a Roman attack using Ancient Greek gods. Viking: Battle for Asgard, based on Norse mythology, followed in 2008.

Alien

Isolation by Creative Assembly made headlines in 2014. The survival horror game’s atmosphere and Alien movie adaption won praise. Hyenas, a multiplayer sci-fi FPS, will premiere in 2023. It’s a zero-G-focused arena shooter.

Creative Assembly isn’t abandoning strategy, though. The blog entry hints future games are planned.

Creative Assembly has a second unannounced game simmering. The blog post states the action game will join Total War, Hyenas, and another unannounced project. Therefore, Creative Assembly fans will be spoiled.
